Initially installed in recirculating mode. Recommends using just the first two fan settings in this mode. Can be noisy on level two. Best to be vented to outside to take advantage of all the features. Matches my Electrolux wavetouch beautifully. Price and features are what sold me on this product. Cuomo – See all my reviews    This review is from: Broan QS330SS QS3 Series 30-Inch Range Hood, Stainless Steel (Tools & Home Improvement) I bought this model because of its reputed quality; it’s supposed to be quieter than most, with a powerful blower… It costs enough! I can’t vent it to the outside of the house. It comes configured to return the filtered air back into the room through TINY holes on the top. Why so tiny??? Beats me, but the result is that even with the “performance ring” which must be installed on the squirrel cage which halves its performance, it sucks more air into the box than it can exhaust through the TINY holes. The result: smoky, unfiltered air comes pouring out the holes for the lightbulbs. I called “support” at Broan/NuTone and was told that this is an excellent hood, and it was working as designed. Holy mockery of a sham, Batman! I ended up connecting a 24″ long duct to the rear, removed the “performance” ring, and it works fine. This review is from: Broan QS330SS QS3 Series 30-Inch Range Hood, Stainless Steel (Tools & Home Improvement) We love our new range hood. It came on time as ordered. While the installation was not quick or simple, the instructions were clear and it just took a bit of time and care to do a good job. It looks great in our kitchen; the stainless reflects the cabinet colors and it opens it up visually as opposed to the old white microwave. But the real payoff is that when we are cooking spicy, high-heat fried or sauteed meat dishes, it clears the air of the acrid odors and grease that used to fill the whole house. We particularly like the ‘delay’ feature: touch a button when the fan is on, and it will continue until the air is cleared, then turn itself off automatically. This is especially welcome since at the lowest setting, it is virtually impossible to hear it running. The lighting is helpful too since our kitchen lights are not very well focused for cooking.
