The wood is pressed particle board and it chipped and cracked immediately. We repaired the game several times over the two weeks but finally gave up and threw it out. Do not purchase this product! The game was not being abused in anyway as it was being played.We followed the directions and actually enjoyed playing it. Unfortunately,the game only made it through one round of play before the whole thing fell apart. The corners of the box separated and the bottom fell out. It is not well constructed at all and I would not recommend it to anyone. I would think for the amount of money it costs, the quality would be much better! Very disappointed!
