If I had to rate the feel and quality of this light, I’d say it’s not totally heavy duty. I question if the plastic glass area in front of the LED lights can crack while in my tool bag. The plastic housing just seems like medium grade. The black you see on the front side is actually rubber coated.

What’s cool about this light is the fact that it’s so compact, yet brighter than my cordless Black and Decker LED work light. Not only does it have a hook that you can hang the light, but it has a very strong magnet on the back which gives you even more options to hang the light while you work.

You push the on/off switch once, and it turns on the few LED lights on the end of the unit (I don’t think the picture shows it because those few lights are on the bottom of the unit) to use like a regular flashlight. Push the switch again, and that light goes off. Push the switch again and it now turns on the many LED lights on the main side of the unit. Finally push the switch to turn them off. I think it would be better to have a different switch for both functions because I can see how it might get tedious later on. It’s not that bad, but just something I noticed.

To change the 3 AAA batteries, you need to unscrew 2 screws on the back. I think that did not need to be necessary in the design, but I guess it’s good to know the battery cover will not fall out while in the tool bag.

Great little light, December 11, 2010

I couldn’t resist this little palm-sized LED light. The combined size, light output, and hook/magnet really make it an ideal product. It’s a great size to keep in a bedroom drawer, automobile storage compartment, or coat pocket. Toss it into your suitcase when you travel for an emergency light.
Pressing the power button cycles through: 24-LED flood, off, 3-LED spot, and off again. The black surfaces have a neoprene or -like finish with a great hand feel. The batteries are replaced by removing 3 Phillips screws on the back.
I’m a sucker for gadgets but this one really feels like it is a winner.

The Only Light You Willl Ever Need!, September 20, 2011

This is, by far, the best little light I’ve ever used in my entire history of camping. I could use the provided, hidden hook, and hook it on to the back of my chair and read by the camp fire or use the magnet part to place on the van ceiling, since we disable the dome light, thereby allowing us to leave the doors open, etc. This would be a huge work van and not a family van. Anyhow, the lights are super bright, which is not always the case these days. It could be used for so many things, other than camping,as well. I’ve never raved so much about a light. I plan on buying more because the price was right as well. Can’t say enough about this and recommend it for really anyone. One could place on the refrigerator, due to the magnet, and, in case of power outage, would know where it was right off, just for another example. OK, I think I’m done with my rave!! You must purchase one today.
